Import properties via CSV

What you can import

The CSV import creates property records in bulk — addresses, property type, bedrooms, and basic details. Compliance certificates, tenancies, and documents must be added after import.

CSV import requires a Pro or Agency plan.

Download the template

  1. Go to Properties in the sidebar.
  2. Click Import CSV in the top-right area.
  3. Download the CSV template and open it in Excel or Google Sheets.

Fill in the template

Required columns:

  • address_line1 — first line of the address
  • postcode — full UK postcode (e.g. SG1 1AB)

Optional columns: town, property_type, bedrooms, ownership_type (personal / ltd / llp).

Upload and review

  1. Save the file as CSV and upload it via the import screen.
  2. LetSense shows a preview of each row — green rows will import, red rows have errors (usually a missing postcode or invalid value).
  3. Fix any errors in the file and re-upload, or skip the problem rows.
  4. Click Confirm import to create the properties.

After importing

Each imported property appears in your Properties list. Work through them to add compliance certificates, create tenancies, and set up rent tracking. The certificates guide is a good starting point.
