Set up rent tracking for a tenancy

Where rent is configured

Rent is set on the tenancy, not the property. Go to Properties → [your property] → Tenants, open the tenancy, and click Edit tenancy.

Fields to fill in

  • Rent amount — the amount due per payment period.
  • Payment frequency — monthly, weekly, or fortnightly.
  • First payment date — LetSense generates all expected payment dates from this. Typically the same day of the month as the tenancy start date.

How LetSense tracks payments

Once configured, LetSense creates a payment record for each due date. Each record starts as Pending. When you mark it as paid (with the amount received), it becomes Paid. If the due date passes with no payment, it becomes Overdue.

Partial payments

You can record a partial payment — enter the amount actually received. The balance owed is calculated automatically.
