Tracking utilities and supplier contracts

What you can track

The Utilities tab (inside Finances → Utilities) lets you record details for:

• Gas
• Electricity
• Water
• Broadband
• Council tax

What to record

For each utility:

• Provider name — e.g. British Gas, Octopus Energy
• Account number — useful during a void or change of tenancy
• Contract end date — triggers a reminder before the contract expires
• Bills included — tick this if the rent includes bills. LetSense records the cost as an expense automatically.

Contract end reminders

When a contract end date is set, LetSense sends a reminder 30 days before it expires so you have time to renew or switch supplier.

Void periods

During a void period, utility responsibility typically reverts to the landlord. The property Overview tab shows a utility responsibility card during void periods as a reminder.
